The Headley Trust is one of the Sainsbury Family Charitable Trusts and is a grant-making organisation with charitable status.
It has a small grants programme providing grants of up to £2,000 to help disabled people purchase equipment for use in their own homes.
The type of equipment eligible for consideration includes, but is not limited to, electric wheelchairs, adapted computers, communication aids, stair lifts, scooters, and adaptations to vehicles - any equipment that will improve quality of life.
Items such as clothing, furniture (unless it is adapted) or holidays are not eligible. Building work and medical costs are also excluded. All disabilities, including visual and hearing impairments are considered.
Applications should be referred to the Trust by a third party, such as a registered charity, social worker, hospital or Citizens Advice Bureau.
Applicants must be aged 16 and above.
Applications should be made to Sarah Levander at the address below, outlining the nature of the disability, cost of the equipment, funds required and indication of financial need.
